Android-and-Apple

This post is for those who are wondering which route they should go in the world of smart phones. Here are a few things that i have discovered along the way. Feel free to comment, and address your thoughts on this topic as well.

Pro’s For Apple:

  • Software update love for all! – This is where apple shines in my opinion. The nice thing about buying an iPhone is that you can find some comfort knowing that your phone is going to receive a long life of recent updates, and support. You will get nice updates for your nice hardware!
  • Native phone tracking through icloud. I like the fact that apple makes it so simple to setup finding your phone. Android does the same, but there are a ton of garbage apps out there that claim they can do it. This is great for people who just want it up and running in no time.
  • Hardware.  Apple is the king of beautiful hardware. No crappy plastic. Glass and metal. Built with quality and love!
  • Easy IOS Navigation This is also another benefit that apple has. If you just want a phone, and you want it to work, and do simple right to the point processes. Then its the perfect phone. On the flip side however, android takes the cake with custom options.
  • Re-Sell Factor-For some reason i could probably sell an iphone 3g for $1000.00 cash. Old iphones still are worth their weight and gold. When your sick of your old IOS device and want to upgrade. You can most likely get a pretty little penny out of your old iPhone. (Android phones have a little harder time)
  • Accessories:You could be in the middle of the gobi, and most likely find a vendor selling iphone chargers and cases. So many accessories for apple devices.
  • Quality Apps: From my experience IOS apps have a little more “Eye Candy” than Android.

Pro’s For Androids:

  • New technology features: Unlike apple, android devices are manufactured by multiple vendors (Samsung, HTC, Motorola, Etc.) This provides the option for many “flavors” of different styled handsets, instead of the cookie cutter, get what your get iphone line. NFC is one of my new favorite technologies that iPhone still hasnt adopted.
  • Power on Power:  Seems like android device manufactures are constantly releasing new more powerful phones on a more frequent release than apple. Speed is key, and Android devices are FAST.
  • Updates: Android users feel like its Christmas morning when they get an update. However they are not as frequent as IOS, and possibly you might only get 1 update with the entire life of your phone without rooting. However Android OS is fun and VERY custom. The user controls it, not the other way around.
